Like many of folks, I primarily hike the region in which I live. Why? I simply can't afford to take many trips out west or up north.

I have done some hiking in Colorado, Indiana, Ohio, and Maryland, but Virginia is my primary stomping grounds.

Of all the places I have hiked, Colorado was the most spectacular so far. Boulder County has an excellent natural park system, Rocky Mountain National Park is nearby, and there are literally thousands of miles of National Forest and Bureau of Land Management public lands.
